The objective of this research is to present in a clear and complete way the theoretical framework related to the teaching methodology called "Design Thinking" and its motivating role for basic education students. In this study, a documentary-descriptive methodology was used that focused on the systematic analysis and compilation of secondary sources of information, such as documents, scientific journals, books and academic articles relevant to the topic of study. Among the main results, it stands out that the implementation of Design Thinking has proven to be an effective strategy to improve the academic performance of students. By focusing on the development of critical thinking and problem solving, this methodology provides students with the skills necessary to more efficiently face academic challenges. As a result, students acquire valuable experience in generating knowledge, finding and proposing effective and innovative solutions for situations. In conclusion, it is evident that the Design Thinking methodology offers students a valuable opportunity to develop skills and competencies, allowing them to address challenges with a creative and practical perspective. This provides them with an enriching experience that encourages their active participation in the learning process and allows them to achieve more effective and innovative solutions.
