The objective of the study is to carry out a systematic review considering the literature regarding teaching strategies, pedagogical mediation in the development of critical thinking in students; The panorama shows us progress, but also new demands, to develop a high level of creativity, through pedagogical strategies. It was based on a qualitative approach and documentary review to analyze the management of teachers in the classroom, the perception and achievements of the students. The results indicate that teaching strategies play a relevant role in meaningful learning and student motivation. It is concluded that pedagogical mediation is essential to promote a humanizing education that empowers students. The development of critical thinking allows students to express informed and judicious opinions.
