Currently, faced with the social inequalities present in Latin America and the growing need of students to address social issues, various higher education institutions have chosen to implement a pedagogical methodology focused on learning as an effective solution to address these demands. The research carried out at a Public Technological Institute in Huanta, Peru, was based on a qualitative approach, using a bibliographic review of articles that explored the impact of teaching competence and research training. The results of the analysis conclude that teaching competence and research training have positive and significant effects in various areas: academic and cognitive, civic, vocational and professional, ethical and moral, as well as personal and social. This contributes to the training of highly competitive professionals.
