ENRIQUEZ VILLALBA, Norma y URETA JURADO, Raúl. EFFECTIVENESS OF AN EDUCATIONAL STRATEGY IN THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS VACCINE (HPV) IN PARENTS IN. Aula Virtual [online]. 2024, vol.5, n.12, e333. Epub 25-Nov-2024. ISSN 2665-0398. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13144578.
The following research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the educational strategy in the acceptance of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in parents in rural areas. The methodology of the study was quantitative and pre-experimental of applied type. The sample was 65 parents of children in adolescence, selected by simple random sampling. A questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument, with a Cronbach's alpha reliability level of 0.70, to evaluate the acceptance of parents towards the HPV vaccine. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were used, including normality tests using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and Student's "t" test for related samples, before and after the intervention. As a result of the intervention, a significant increase in vaccine acceptance was observed: 96.9% showed a favorable attitude, 61.5% achieved a positive subjectivity of acceptance, 89.2% achieved behavioral aspects of high acceptance, 60.0% had a high positive intention of acceptance and 93.8% in general reported a high acceptance of the HPV vaccine, p = 0.00. Finally, it is concluded that the educational intervention demonstrated a positive and statistically significant effect on the acceptance of the HPV vaccine among parents in rural areas.
