GOMEZ REATEGUI, Jorge Fernando  y  CHAMOLI FALCON, Andy Williams. LITERATURE REVIEW ON BLOCKCHAIN AND INSTITUTIONAL TRUST: PERSPECTIVES FROM LATIN AMERICA. Aula Virtual [online]. 2024, vol.5, n.12, e378.  Epub 27-Dic-2024. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14017506.

Corruption and lack of trust in institutions are persistent problems in Latin America, making it urgent to investigate how emerging technologies, such as blockchain, can improve public management. This article aims to analyze the existing literature on the public perception of blockchain in public management and its impact on institutional trust in the region. A systematic review of relevant studies was carried out, allowing to identify both the benefits and challenges associated with the implementation of blockchain. The results indicate that, although citizens recognize the potential of blockchain to increase transparency and accountability, there are also concerns about the lack of training and resistance to change. The research concludes that it is essential for public institutions to adopt effective education and communication strategies to improve public perception of blockchain. This study contributes to the field by providing a theoretical and practical framework that can guide future research and public policies, highlighting the importance of integrating blockchain into public management to foster citizen trust.

Palabras clave : Blockchain; public perception; institutional trust; public management; Latin America.
