Resumen

MATA CARNEVALI, Olga Thais. TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE PLUS AURICULAR REFLEXOLOGY IN THE TREATMENT OF LUMBALGIA FROM THE FEELINGS OF THE HACIENT. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e422.  Epub 19-Jun-2025. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14875892.

Low back pain, characterized by pain in the lumbosacral region that can radiate to the neck, legs, ankles and feet, significantly affects the patient's mobility. This symptom has been the subject of numerous studies in allopathic and oriental medicine, including traditional Chinese medicine and auricular reflexology. The research seeks to delve into the experiences of patients treated with these therapies, beyond their clinical assessment. A qualitative approach using interpretive phenomenology was adopted to explore the experiences of the participants. This allowed us to identify the meanings that the informants assigned to their experience with traditional Chinese medicine and auricular reflexology in the treatment of low back pain. The findings suggest that these practices not only address the physical symptom, but also impact emotional well-being and pain perception. Auriculotherapy, for example, stimulates reflex points that can relieve low back pain by activating neurophysiological responses. This comprehensive approach highlights the importance of considering both physical and emotional aspects in the treatment of low back pain.

Palabras clave : Traditional Chinese medicine; auricular reflexology; low back pain.
