Abstract
PICON TEJEDO, Fany Edelmira and AYBAR HUAMANI, Justiniano. SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES OF STUDENT FASHION DESIGNERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e454. Epub July 14, 2025. ISSN 2665-0398. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15465604.
The industry is one of the main sources of pollution worldwide, being the second most polluting manufacturing industry, which is why this article aims to systematize the literature on sustainable practices of fashion designers in higher education, for this purpose a rigorous review was carried out in order to select the documents, conducting a literature search in the Scopus database from the years 2020 -2024. It was concluded that, although significant progress has been made in incorporating sustainability in the training of fashion designers, there are still structural and educational challenges that require greater investment in infrastructure, better articulation between academia and industry, and an educational approach that promotes sustainable values from basic training. The transition to sustainable fashion design is a complex process that requires the active participation of all stakeholders, from educators and students to industry and consumers.
