Abstract

OLIVERA YLLA, Carlos Alberto. RESEARCH CAPACITY AS THE FOUNDATION OF MEANINGFUL LEARNING AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO EDUCATION FOR LIFE. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e476.  Epub July 24, 2025. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15976886.

This article presents a narrative literature review aimed at analyzing the relationships between research capacity, meaningful learning, quality education, and lifelong learning. A total of 70 documents were analyzed, 65 from the Scopus database and 5 from other specialized sources. The selection process involved both purposive and random sampling. The analysis revealed that research capacity enhances meaningful learning by enabling students to connect new knowledge with prior experiences in an active and reflective way. In turn, meaningful learning contributes to quality education by promoting comprehension, autonomy, and the development of competences. Lastly, it was found that quality education based on meaningful learning fosters lifelong learning, understood as the ability to apply knowledge in real and dynamic contexts. The findings suggest an interrelated structure in which these four variables mutually reinforce each other in the educational process.

Keywords : Research capacity; meaningful learning; quality education; learning for life.
