REATEGUI VEGA, José  e  CONTRERAS RIVERA, Robert Julio. SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF PUBLIC POLICIES IN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH IN LATIN AMERICA AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e486.  Epub 07-Ago-2025. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.16367549.

This article presents a systematic review of the academic literature on public policies related to agricultural research in Latin America, with the aim of identifying prevailing trends, critical gaps, institutional barriers, and relevant experiences. The review began with an initial analysis of 6429 records, which were filtered using the PRISMA methodology, resulting in 45 key studies grouped into five thematic categories: agricultural policies and governance, impact evaluation and investment, innovation and scientific development, rural development and research, and agricultural technology and applied science. The findings reveal important progress in sustainability, innovation, and the use of emerging technologies. However, many public policies remain fragmented, poorly coordinated, and insufficiently adapted to territorial realities. The main barriers identified include institutional limitations, unequal access to knowledge, and the lack of multi-stakeholder approaches. These findings suggest the need to rethink agricultural policies from a more integrated perspective-one that connects science, territory, and development-so as to provide useful insights for the design of new policies and the improvement of existing ones.

Palavras-chave : Agricultural public policy; scientific research; technological innovation; rural development; impact evaluation; territorial governance.
