Abstract

TEJADA RAMOS, Arístides Alexander. SYSTEMATIC REVIEW ON THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES (ICT) ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e506.  Epub Sep 19, 2025. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.16933296.

This review article analyzed how ICT are simplifying and improving the administration of justice worldwide, systematizing and simplifying repetitive tasks and activities. Artificial intelligence has provided great advances and enables support in the work performed by justice officials. The digitization of procedures, which before the pandemic were carried out on paper, is now electronic or digital, with great achievements and progress in some countries, and less so in others. The investment of some powers in modern computing and technological tools has allowed some countries to achieve positive results and improve the administration of justice, which they provide to users, generating value. It is important to highlight the support of the private sector in some countries in creating and developing support systems, which public entities often cannot implement due to their overloaded workloads, limitations, or, often, the negligence of their authorities. The objective of the study was to analyze the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the administration of justice through a systematic literature review. The PRISMA method was used, which provided vital guidelines for developing and implementing systematic reviews. This perspective highlights the implementation of an established review protocol, which served as a structural framework for the study. The results of the study found and determined a positive impact on the application of ICT in the service provided by the justice system to its users. It is concluded that the application of ICT in the justice system generates significant advances and results, benefiting end users of the service. The systematization of case law searches, the resulting procedural speed, and the support and assistance provided to judges and judicial personnel in their decision-making are very important achievements obtained with the application of these new technological tools.
