The present study examines forty-six papers published between 2000 and 2024 following the protocol PRISMA 2020, whose review groups the evidence on five fronts: governance, infrastructure, logistics, public policy and climate thus shows that the performance of an airport is mostly linked to the way institutions make decisions and to the use of data and technology, describes practices such as information-supported planning, integration of modes and rules able to change rapidly, given that the Latin American region faces diverse network and fiscal constraint, and at the same time finds option of improvement through coordinated action and data tools. Finally, these results guide investment norms and pathways for climate adaptation in developing contexts.
