Abstract

HUAMAN RAMOS, Dora Marianela; MEJIA CHAVEZ, Claudia Aracelli; GOMEZ, Rocio Gutierrez  and  RODRIGUEZ ROJAS, Milagritos Leonor. MOTOR STIMULATION PROGRAM TO STRENGTHEN CRAWLING IN CHILDREN. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e528.  Epub Sep 19, 2025. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17092892.

Crawling is a key milestone for motor, cognitive, and neurological development. Early childhood education institutions have shown a low frequency of this practice in children under one year of age, attributed to factors such as lack of knowledge, overprotection, lack of space, and a lack of pedagogical and stimulation strategies. The objective was to design, implement, and evaluate an educational program to promote crawling in infants in public schools in Callao. The results demonstrate the achievement of a stable and secure gait. The "Crawl with Me" program was implemented, aimed at strengthening motor skills prior to independent movement. The study was a quantitative, quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group. The sample consisted of 20 children between 6 and 10 months of age, divided into two experimental and control groups. Structured activities were conducted for eight weeks, guided by trained teachers and caregivers. Significant improvements in crawling-related motor skills were evident in the experimental group, according to systematic records, observation sheets, and psychomotor assessments administered before and after the intervention. Early educational intervention plans are recommended. Experience shows that, through educational strategies, it is possible to reverse patterns of childhood sedentary behavior in vulnerable contexts, promoting harmonious and comprehensive development.
