VASQUEZ REYES, Luis Angel; LEVANO TASAYCO, Abel Alejandro; GOMEZ SALAZAR, César Moisés y LEVANO AVALOS, Juan Alejandro. DIGITAL TOOLS AS MEDIATORS TO DEVELOP ORAL AND WRITTEN ARGUMENTATIVE COMPETENCE IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e576. Epub 01-Oct-2025. The purpose of this article was to determine the impact of apps on the development of oral and written argumentative competence in university students. The use of mobile applications is increasingly being used in the educational field, and university education is no exception. This is a quantitative, applied study with a pre-experimental design, which involves a pretest and posttest with a single group. The group first underwent a pretest, then the treatment, and then the posttest. The sample consisted of 200 students from a public university in Lima. The results show that students have mobile phones with applications that help improve their argumentative competence in the classroom, demonstrating increasingly meaningful and expressive learning. Furthermore, the pre-test average was 1.49, while the post-test average was 2.75, with a dissimilarity between the two of 1.36 points in favor of the post-test. This shows a disparity between the pre- and post-test scores. Furthermore, the p = 0.000 confirms the research, since the sig. < 0.05. It is determined that the use of apps significantly strengthens university students' argumentative competence.
