LARREA VENEGAS, Carlos Joaquin; LARREA ABAD, Juan Carlos  y  CHAMOLI FALCON, Andy Williams. FROM RESISTANCE TO DIGITAL LEADERSHIP: A SYSTEMATIC ANALYSIS OF THE ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE IN BIG DATA ADOPTION IN PYMES. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e585.  Epub 27-Dic-2025. Organizational resistance constitutes one of the most relevant challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES) in their transition to digital transformation, especially with regard to the adoption of Big Data (BDA) technologies, considered essential tools for optimizing productivity, stimulating innovation, and strengthening competitiveness. In this context, this study aims to analyze the impact of organizational resistance on the adoption of BDA technologies and their effect on the competitiveness of SMES, with the goal of identifying the factors that hinder or facilitate their effective implementation. A systematic review article was prepared following the PRISMA 2020 protocol, by searching, selecting, and analyzing research indexed in databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, published between 2020 and 2025. The results indicate that organizational resistance stems mainly from the absence of digital leadership, insufficient staff training, and a weak cultural approach to innovation, affecting the adoption of BDA and, consequently, business competitiveness. It is concluded that change management, strengthening transformational leadership, and consolidating an analytical culture are essential conditions for countering resistance and fully leveraging the potential of BDA in SMES.
