MAYORGA NUNEZ, Jorge Humberto. PUBLIC POLICIES IN THE FACE OF THE CITIZEN SECURITY CRISIS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e608. Epub 23-Ene-2026. ISSN 2665-0398. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18256848.
The objective was to demonstrate how public policies (PP) work in the face of the citizen insecurity crisis. This is a systematic review article of research published in Scopus, WoS, and SciELO. Additionally, relevant articles identified in other academic sources such as RedALyC, Dialnet, and Google Scholar were included. The PICOH problem was: How are PPs (I) implemented to reduce the insecurity crisis (O) in affected communities (P) compared to other communities that do not apply them (C) in contextual spaces (H)? Using Prisma, 226 documents were identified; the selection yielded 80; the eligibility 22; and the inclusion 16. The following were included: articles from the period 2020-2025, with full text, open access, only original articles related to the study categories and that declared no conflict of interest. It is concluded: the implementation of modern, effective, integrated, and participatory PPs is essential to mitigate the citizen insecurity crisis; The absence or insufficiency of PP contributes to the worsening of the insecurity crisis, increases victimization and limits the capacity to respond to threats to public order.
