Resumen

OCHOA NAVARRO, Alejandra Isabel Fernanda; MELGAR CARRASCO, Lily Maribel  y  TELLO CABELLO, Luis Auberto. TRADITION, MIGRATION AND FREEDOM TOWARDS A REFLEXIVE EPISTEMOLOGICAL THOUGHT. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e636.  Epub 23-Ene-2026. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18213174.

The purpose of this study was to critically analyze the interaction between tradition, migration, and freedom, in order to construct a reflective epistemological approach that allows for understanding and valuing the plurality of knowledge in contexts of human mobility. The methodology applied was a basic descriptive approach that operates as an exhaustive review with a qualitative approach. The results reveal a profound and persistent influence of colonial legacies on the contemporary dynamics of tradition, migration, and freedom in Latin America, demonstrating that migration, far from being a merely demographic phenomenon, is a privileged scenario for the reproduction, but also for challenging, of hegemonic epistemological thinking established during the colonial period. It was concluded that the construction of reflective epistemological approach is not only possible but indispensable; it must be anchored in the lenses of Decolonial Epistemology and Intersectionality, allowing not only to dismantle the colonial power structures that dictate what knowledge is valid, but also to understand the complex interrelationship of migrant identities and experiences.

Palabras clave : Reflective epistemological thought; tradition; migration; freedom; Latin America.
