DELGADO SOTO, Jorge Antonio; HEREDIA APONTE, Norma  y  DELGADO RUIZ, Thaís Nicol. IMPROVING COLLABORATIVE WORK IN FORESTRY ENGINEERING STUDENTS USING PROJECT-BASED LEARNING. Aula Virtual [online]. 2025, vol.6, n.13, e642.  Epub 30-Dic-2025. ISSN 2665-0398.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18475639.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a strategy that has been implemented for various objectives, such as improving research and soft skills, shifting from traditional teaching to a more flexible approach. The research problem was: What is the influence of applying Project-Based Learning (PBL) on improving collaborative work? The objective was to determine the influence of PBL on improving the collaborative work of a group of students from the School of Forestry Engineering. The PBL activity consisted of determining the pH of soil samples. The research was quantitative and explanatory, with a quasi-experimental design. The sample was non-probabilistic and comprised 60 students divided into two groups: a control group and an experimental group. The results of the pre-test and post-test applied to the experimental group yielded performances of 49.01 and 90.37% respectively. For the hypothesis testing, the Wilcoxon Z statistic was -4.793 for a p<0.05, accepting the alternative hypothesis and concluding that Project-Based Learning positively influenced the collaborative work of the students.

Palabras clave : Project-based learning; collaborative work; soil pH; soil quality; science education.
