Violence against women is a persistent public health and human rights issue that manifests differently according to social contexts. This study aimed to analyze the frequency of violence against women and its relationship with social factors among users of the Women’s Emergency Centers in the Cajamarca region, Peru, during 2023. A quantitative study with a documentary and correlational design was conducted, based on secondary data obtained from administrative records of the National Aurora Program of the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations. The population included all records of women assisted in Women’s Emergency Centers in the region. The findings show that violence mainly affects adult women, predominantly from urban areas, with psychological and physical violence being the most frequent forms and commonly occurring on a recurrent basis. Inferential analysis revealed a statistically significant association between age and place of origin with the frequency of violence, while marital status and educational level showed no significant association. The study concludes that social factors are related to the frequency and persistence of violence against women, highlighting the need to strengthen prevention and intervention strategies using a territorial and gender-sensitive approach in the Cajamarca region.
