The objective of the research is to determine the relationship between psychosocial risk factors and occupational stress in IESS Ambato workers. To evaluate the psychosocial risk factors, the "Cuestionario de Evaluación Psicosocial en espacios laborales" of the Ministry of Labor in Ecuador was used; and for occupational stress the "Cuestionario sobre el estrés laboral de la OIT-OMS". A sample of 148 workers was used. In the research, hypothesis H1 was tested, evaluated through Pearson's Chi-Square, which establishes the existence of a close relationship between psychosocial risk factors and occupational stress in IESS Ambato workers. The study corroborated that psychosocial risk factors can contribute to the development of diseases and stress in the work environment. These risk factors affect the worker's health and have negative effects for companies, organizations and governments.
