The general objective of the research was to describe municipal solid waste management 2021-2023: Systematic review. The quantitative approach was the foundation of this research; using the documentary-bibliographic typology, the analysis of the object of study was carried out. In addition, the theoretical methodology of systematic review was used, which aims to gather all available knowledge on a particular field, in this case municipal solid waste management. A protocol was implemented to organize the information from each article selected to carry out the systematic review. It is concluded that, the systematic review highlights that the adoption of integrated municipal solid waste management strategies is crucial to improve efficiency and sustainability. In addition, the implementation of advanced technologies in waste separation and treatment has shown promising results. Active community participation and environmental education are key elements for success.
