The general objective of the research was to describe the optimization of resources to reduce production costs in a footwear company. The methodology was developed from the quantitative approach, which allows establishing the analysis of the object of study, with the purpose of describing the topic addressed. The approached material was conformed by scientific researches, refereed works and thus discovering characteristics, which conform the approached problem. It was also supported by the method of data analysis: the data analysis was carried out through the tools: Ishikawa diagram, Pareto and the Indicator Matrix; which helped to make the diagnosis of the situation. It is concluded that the diagnosis carried out in the production area of the company, showed 7 problems that generate an over cost charged in the final product.
