University quality management represents a structural challenge in Peruvian public institutions, where deficits persist in the standardization of academic and administrative processes. The objective of the research was to determine the impact of the quality management system on the improvement of the academic and administrative processes of a national university in Peru. A quantitative approach was adopted with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive design. The census sample included 80 principals, teachers and administrative staff to whom two questionnaires of 16 items with a Likert scale were applied. The results show that knowledge of the quality management system and processes predominated at the regular level with the control dimension with lower values. A strong positive correlation was determined between both variables. Therefore, the quality management system has a significant impact on institutional processes.
