This article focuses on teaching English in virtual environments and its application to rural students. The research examines the intersection of two key educational trends: the growing importance of teaching English as a second language and the rise of online education. The methodology was based on descriptive research involving 138 rural A2-level English students at a university. Data were collected through surveys and subjected to descriptive statistical analysis. The results reveal that rural students are responsible and adaptive, showing skills in written communication, collaboration, and time management. They also demonstrate high achievement of academic goals and strong comprehension of independent reading. The results highlight the need for reliable technology and connectivity, as well as the importance of an interactive and practical methodology. In conclusion, this study contributes to the understanding of online education for rural students, identifying its challenges and strengths. The findings have implications for the design of online education programs that address the specific needs of this group, promoting educational equity and equitable access to English language instruction, regardless of geographic location.
