Abstract

ACUNA SAURIHT, Leylis Margarita. Violence against women in confinement within the framework of the Covid 19 health emergency: A theoretical review. Revista InveCom [online]. 2024, vol.4, n.2, e040220.  Epub May 23, 2024. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10562888.

This paper aims to identify theoretical approaches to gender-based violence in the context of intimate partners during the situations of confinement caused by the Covid-19 health emergency, in order to analyze the complexity of the phenomenon in the Latin American region and propose action strategies to mitigate it. The methodology used refers to a systematic review through the PRISMA method, with which a search and consultation of different scientific articles is carried out in specialized databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, Scielo, Science Direct, among others, with a temporary selection criterion included in the year 2020, taking into account that they are also related to the subject matter or, at least, address it in some of its aspects. The documents consulted show how the rate of presentation of gender-based violence in the context of intimate partners rises during atypical situations such as pandemics, tsunamis, earthquakes, phenomena in which stress levels rise, which can cause outbreaks of violence in different social interactions, with violence against women and children being the most frequent.

Keywords : violence; women; confinement; covid-19.
