The objective of this study was to identify the factors related to university dropout in the biology career of the Amazon State University (El Pangui Campus) during the 2020-2022 academic periods. The research was carried out under a qualitative-descriptive approach and a cross-sectional field design. A non-probabilistic sampling was used, identifying 75 students who dropped out of the biology career who were surveyed. The results highlight a negative trend towards early dropouts, with a considerable number of students dropping out in the first few years. Socioeconomic, personal, and academic factors significantly influenced dropout. Specifically, the parents' economic situation, financial dependence, unmet expectations, and the influence of the family circle were highlighted as relevant causes. The findings highlight the importance of understanding and addressing. The socioeconomic, personal, and academic factors that influence student dropout.
