Abstract
COSI BLANCAS, Arturo Jesús and ZEBALLOS HURTADO, Nilton Juan. The relationship of critical thinking to the learning of electrical mechanical engineering students. Revista InveCom [online]. 2024, vol.4, n.2, e040246. Epub July 20, 2024. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10641867.
Critical thinking is the basis for all students, regardless of educational level, to be able to build their own conclusions based on the analysis of the information received and contrasting it with their own criteria and knowledge. The objective of this work was to analyze the impact of critical thinking on the educational results of students enrolled in the specialty of Electrical Mechanical Engineering, which is one of the careers offered by the José Carlos Mariátegui University, in the city of Moquegua, Peru. The methodology used corresponds to non-experimental research, with a quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive correlational approach. The study included 520 students, of which 65 participants were randomly selected and 2 instruments were used, these were a questionnaire that had 30 items and was applied in order to measure the levels of critical thinking, and, on the other hand, the assessment scale made up of 20 questions, which allowed the measurement of the learning variable. The significance of the chi-square test yielded a value of 0.039 less than 0.05 and these results indicated that there is a significant relationship between student learning and critical thinking.
