Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the importance of the STEM approach in the development of problem-solving skills and its impact on academic management. The bibliographic-systemic review method was used, compiling scientific articles related to the research objective and published in indexed journals in the period 2017 - 2024. After the application of the information search protocols, inclusion and exclusion criteria, different articles were obtained and filtered, leaving 20 to be analyzed. The information obtained was processed in a Word document using an analytical and documentary matrix for its organization. The results of the analysis of these articles reveal the importance of incorporating STEM methodology in classroom practices, to favor the development of skills and competencies, particularly the competence to solve problems and, therefore, generate better results in the development of skills and competencies. The in-depth analysis of the selected documents highlights the crucial importance of the STEM approach in education. The STEM methodology not only positively impacts the development of skills, especially problem-solving competence, but also directly influences the improvement of academic management processes, the interconnection between the application of innovative strategies, effective management and the promotion of key competencies. The relevance of adopting integrative approaches such as STEM to enhance meaningful learning and prepare students for the challenges of the future is highlighted.
