Abstract
MENACHO ANGELES, Milagros Rocío et al. Artificial Intelligence as a Tool in the Autonomous Learning of Higher Education Students. Revista InveCom [online]. 2024, vol.4, n.2, e040258. Epub July 24, 2024. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10693945.
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education poses significant challenges and sparks interest in understanding its relevance as a tool in the learning of higher education students and teaching practice. This study aims to analyze the degree of importance of AI in the autonomous learning of university students, employing a descriptive quantitative research methodology. 65 scientific articles indexed in Scopus were analyzed using the innovative Pro.Seso creative 3.0 methodology to explore, conceptualize, ideate, develop, and validate. The reliability analysis revealed a high Cronbach's alpha value (0.944) and a KMO index of 0.932, considered optimal. A sample of 200 students responded to an online questionnaire, with 52.6% considering AI to always be important in optimizing time in searching for academic information, 41.4% almost always, and 6% indicating that it is not relevant. Scientific articles highlight the importance of AI in learning, emphasizing its ethical and responsible use. In conclusion, AI represents a crucial tool for autonomous learning in higher education for students and teachers, as long as it is used with ethics and responsibility. Further research on AI applied to education and its connection to autonomous learning is warranted.
