The article presented shows the analysis of the use of educational technology as a tool for pedagogical improvement in the Higher Education Institutions (IES) of Ecuador, which was carried out from a systematic review during the period between 2020 to 2024, considering as sources for the data search Google Academic and Scielo, where scientific articles, research papers and essays referring to the context of Ecuador and the theme expressed were located and selected. The registration of the documents and their selection was carried out through the PRISMA protocol, obtaining 17 works that responded to the consideration of relevance as a search and selection factor. Among the results, it stands out that in the HEIs of Ecuador regarding the use of TEs, it is necessary to delve deeper into the universal pedagogical principles, through the digital training of teachers, the available resources, the adaptation of contents and the formation of competencies. digital technologies for the application of more active methodologies.
