Abstract

The article presented is a study that aimed to develop an analysis on the implementation of the ISO 14001 standard in Manabi companies and its impact on sustainable development through a systematic review, with the data sources being Redalyc and Google. Academic where a search was carried out to identify scientific articles, research or high-impact essays in the context of Ecuador, establishing as the search period the works between 2019 and 2023 through the PRISMA protocol, with which 15 documents were selected and analyzed and compared with respect to the subject matter. Among the results, it stands out that sustainable development refers to a variant of interest in companies in this country, being a sector that seems to have achieved favorable performance in caring for the environment, however, it is necessary for many organizations to achieve certification in this regard. and with this the establishment of incentives that contribute to maintaining interest in the preservation and practice of environmental care.
