Revista InveCom [online]. 2024, vol.4, n.2, e040275. Epub 23-Ago-2024. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10798227.
The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between ICT mastery and digital literacy of teachers at a prominent public institution in Lima, Peru. ICT proficiency refers to the skills and competencies necessary to use technological tools in the educational field, while digital literacy implies the ability to understand and ethically and effectively use ICT for educational purposes. The study was carried out from a positivist perspective, using a quantitative approach and a non-experimental cross-sectional and correlational design. Two expert-validated questionnaires were applied to collect data on ICT proficiency and digital literacy. The sample consisted of 110 teachers. The results showed a direct and significant association between digital literacy and ICT proficiency. Furthermore, a positive and moderate relationship was found between ICT mastery and the dimensions of digital literacy. These findings indicate that as digital literacy increases, teachers' ICT proficiency also increases. In conclusion, the majority of teachers did not present an adequate level of ICT mastery, which suggests the need to strengthen training and training in this area to improve their pedagogical practice and enrich the students' learning experience.
