The objective of this research work is to investigate the application of collaborative work in the learning of the area of Natural Sciences of the sixth-grade students of Basic General Education of the Educational Unit "La Granja CEBLAG", of the canton of Ambato. Research is important because it allows us to know the benefits of collaborative work in student learning. The methodology has a quantitative approach. The instrument for data collection was the survey with its respective questionnaire, which consisted of a series of questions and served to measure the variables of the problem. The population consisted of 36 students from Basic General Education and one teacher from the area of Natural Sciences. It is concluded that collaborative work positively influences learning in the area of Natural Sciences as it fosters collaboration, development of critical thinking and problem solving through interaction between classmates that leads them to achieve meaningful learning.
