Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic disorders, whose common characteristic is high concentrations of glucose in the blood (persistent or chronic). Lifestyle management is a fundamental pillar of diabetes care and includes; diet, physical activity, non-consumption of tobacco and alcohol, knowledge about the disease, psychosocial care and adherence to therapeutic treatment; To this end, the individual must adopt healthy behaviors that directly commit to improving their health; Unhealthy behavior can have negative consequences and even seriously compromise the individual's life. This research was carried out in the "Diabetic Club" of a hospital in the province of El Oro. The aim of this study was to analyze the lifestyle of patients with type II diabetes mellitus. It is a descriptive study, with a quantitative and cross-sectional approach; The technique used was the IMEVID survey, used to measure lifestyles in diabetic patients. The sample consisted of 50 patients. It was determined that the sex of the study group is male, with an age range greater than 65 years, the level of education is primary, the occupation, most of them are retired and are dedicated to household activities. In addition, 62% have a very healthy lifestyle, 36%; a healthy lifestyle and 2% an unhealthy lifestyle.
