This article reviews the literature on the interrelationship between law and nursing from an interdisciplinary perspective, focused on the conceptualization of ethics and personal reflection in the face of human vulnerability. Drawing on the thought of Alasdair MacIntyre, it explores the insufficient attention of Western thought towards human dependency and vulnerability, proposing a vision that integrates fragility as an intrinsic aspect of our condition. Through mythology, Martha Nussbaum's philosophy, and the holistic approaches of nursing and law, the importance of a broad understanding of vulnerability is argued, and how both disciplines, from their differences and similarities, converge on the common goal of comprehensively addressing human well-being. Furthermore, the role of ethical and bioethical principles, such as the Nuremberg Code and the Belmont Principles, in the professional practice of nursing and law is discussed, highlighting the relevance of interdisciplinary training that enhances the understanding and application of these principles in human care.
