Abstract

CASAS MIRANDA, Roberto José María; NOLASCO VALENZUELA, Jorge Santiago  and  CRISPIN SANCHEZ, Iván. Optimizing MIS learning through Moodle: A focus on distance education at a national university. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.1, e501017.  Epub Nov 18, 2024. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10950513.

Currently, virtual educational platforms offer a wide range of resources and collaborative environments that facilitate distance learning. These environments foster teacher-student interaction, thus creating advantages and additional opportunities for teaching and learning mechanisms in both distance and blended learning contexts. In this regard, the aim of the following study is to analyze the effect of the Moodle Platform as a didactic tool on the conceptual learning of the Management Information Systems (MIS) course at the Distance Education School of a National University. For this purpose, a substantial non-experimental design study was conducted, with a correlational-causal and cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 150 university students in the sixth semester of the business administration program, who were administered a questionnaire. To test the hypothesis, Pearson's correlation coefficient and analysis of variance ANOVA were employed, resulting in a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.756 and a significance value (sig.) of 0.000. Thus, it was confirmed that the use of the Moodle Platform has a significant influence on the learning of the mentioned subject by the university students involved in this research.
