Abstract

This article carried out an analysis of various studies related to family violence in Latin America during the years 2020-2021. The main objective was to identify the elements binding to family violence in this region. The methodology of the study was based on a documentary review, the purpose of which was to collect, examine and record all relevant information in relation to the stated objective, for this, it was based on the PRISMA methodology. A systematic review analysis was performed on information collected from multiple data sources, such as Scopus, Scielo, Web of Science, EbscoHost, ProQuest, and Latindex. The following inclusion criteria were established: a) studies published in Spanish, English and Portuguese, b) empirical studies, c) published in 2020 and 2021 and in open format, considering a total of 26 documents. It was concluded that family violence is linked to various elements that manifest themselves at the individual, family, community and social levels. These factors cover different forms of violence, such as psychological, physical and sexual, mainly affecting people in vulnerable situations within the family environment.
