In today's society, characterized by the constant demand for change, it is essential to evaluate the state of the art in higher education with the aim of directing it towards quality training. Higher education institutions cannot be oblivious to this reality, which highlights the relevance of this research. In this study, scientific articles that address topics such as leadership, quality higher education and digital technology were analyzed in recognized databases such as Scopus, Scielo, Redalyc and Latindex. The purpose was to examine existing theory and provide input for future lines of research. The methodology used was based on a documentary review that used bibliometric indicators to evaluate the existing scientific production in this field. The results obtained indicate that achieving educational quality continues to be a complex challenge that requires the implementation of diverse policies and strategies oriented towards academic excellence, continuous improvement and innovation. It is essential to incorporate integrative teaching methods that focus on the comprehensive development of students. Any model or approach developed in this sense must have the necessary resources to guarantee its implementation and effective practice. In addition, the importance of carrying out a permanent evaluation that considers the established objectives and assesses the results obtained is emphasized.
