The main objective of this article was to provide a thorough and comprehensive analysis of the essential role that the police play in the protection of possession. This analysis was carried out through a qualitative study based on relevant bibliographic sources. Special attention was paid to the challenges faced by the police in this field, considering factors such as the increase in crime and technological advances in the current environment. The main results highlight the continued importance of the police function in safeguarding possession and guaranteeing security, peace and harmony in our society. It is concluded that police work is and will continue to be fundamental to achieving a common horizon of justice, equity and well-being for all citizens.
