VILLAFUERTE RUIZ, Estefanny Dayana et al. Pathologic presentation of Situs Inversus. Literature Review. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.1, e501054.  Epub 05-Dez-2024. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.11377103.

Situs inversus is a rare congenital condition in which a mirror inversion of the position of organs within the abdominal and thoracic cavity is observed. Situs solitus refers to the normal arrangement of organs in the human body, while situs inversus implies that all organs are inverted in their usual position. In these cases, it is essential to use advanced imaging modalities that allow the smallest anatomical details to be accurately assessed, as these play a crucial role in the planning of both radiological and surgical interventions. It really proves to be challenging to carry out procedures such as percutaneous biliary procedures and portal vein embolization in patients presenting with intractable thromboembolic disease due to the reflected effects that can be observed. Performing an organ transplant, particularly a liver transplant, involves facing an extremely complex and difficult surgical challenge. Given how uncommon it is and the peculiarity of their condition, individuals with situs inversus who require surgery often need the medical team to show greater adaptability and innovative thinking. The aim of this study is to determine the pathological presentation of situs inversus. Different medical databases were used to obtain the compilation of multiple scientific articles. Different studies were found where all the compatible information on the present pathology to be detailed was gathered.
