Abstract

RAMOS BECERRA, Luis Martin. Mathematical competencies in students of an educational institution. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.1, e501072.  Epub Dec 11, 2024. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.11658522.

The present systematic review research analyzes mathematical competencies in primary school students of an educational institution, using a qualitative approach and the content analysis method. Information from 25 scientific articles selected from 50 indexed journals was compared. The results indicate the need for adequate planning and organization by the teacher, who must be a mediator in the teaching-learning process. An inadequate design of the materials was observed, which limits the understanding of the mathematical exercises. It is concluded that the students have a medium level of mathematical skills, influenced by the lack of teaching and recreational materials, poor communication and limited use of technology and support software.

Keywords : mathematical skills; teaching process; reasoning.
