Abstract

ESMERALDAS ARIAS, Carolina Eulalia. Strengthening mathematical skills through mobile devices and Kahoot in upper basic education and high school. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.1, e501076.  Epub Nov 25, 2024. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.12135980.

This article reviews the implementation of mobile technologies and gamification strategies in mathematics education, highlighting their impact on the engagement and academic performance of upper elementary and high school students. Selected literature from recent academic databases was analyzed, using criteria focused on evaluating the performance and perception of these educational tools. The results suggest that mobile applications and gamification enhance student engagement and motivation through interactivity and instant feedback, although their effectiveness depends on proper pedagogical integration and ongoing training support for teachers. Further studies are recommended to explore the long-term effects and the impact of contextual variables on their application.

Keywords : mobile technologies; gamification; mathematics education.
