Governance is considered crucial for the effective management of public policies and the improvement of stability and social well-being in the province of La Mar, Ayacucho. The objective of the research was to determine the impact of governance on the competitiveness of workers in agricultural production chains, focusing on aspects such as innovation, commercial agility and value creation, to provide practical and policy recommendations for sustainable and equitable development in the region. A quantitative approach was employed, using surveys and questionnaires to collect data. The study followed a hypothetical-deductive method and applied a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population was composed of 60 managers of agricultural production chains in La Mar, using intentional sampling for convenience. The analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between governance and competitiveness. Better governance is associated with higher levels of innovation, business agility, and value creation. Specifically, 75% of executives perceive good governance to significantly improve innovation, 68% see greater business agility, and 70% notice an increase in value creation. Governance plays a fundamental role in improving the competitiveness of agricultural production chains. The findings support existing theories and highlight the need for public policies to strengthen governance at the local and regional levels. policymakers and managers in the agricultural sector.
