Corruption is one of the endemic evils of Peru, our country; every year the figures of the amounts lost by the Peruvian State due to corruption increase, despite the tireless efforts of entities such as the Comptroller's Office, corruption seems, on the contrary, to become entrenched in all the powers of the State, while corruption scandals spread. Likewise, extreme poverty, which had seemed to decrease, has suddenly reappeared in the last 4 years due to circumstances such as the global crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic. In this research, a theoretical review was first carried out, and then a relational analysis was carried out between both variables, obtaining an R-squared coefficient of 63.50% of the dependent variable, in this case extreme poverty, and in the case of the independent variable, that is, corruption, it was significant with a probability of 0.000, which indicates a positive and significant correlation.
