LOZANO LOZANO, Marilé; CHAVEZ TAIPE, Ysabel Victoria e SANCHEZ ORTEGA, Jaime Agustín. Mentoring in higher education: a review of the literature. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.1, e501088. Epub 11-Dez-2024. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.12629762.
Mentoring and its implementation in higher education have gained relevance, and there is a growing interest in discerning its conceptualization and application for improving teacher management and teaching-learning processes. This research aims to analyze research mentoring and its impact on higher education through a literature review in Scopus, Redalyc, and Scielo. We used qualitative methodology with a descriptive level, and grounded theory; moreover, the literature review technique under the PRISMA 2020 model with emphasis on databases during the periods 2019 to 2023 was also employed. Thus, 22 articles out of 50 were identified, following inclusion and exclusion criteria related to the proposed model. The results indicate that there are different conceptual interpretations of mentoring. However, one of the most relevant perspectives is to provide support and guidance from experienced teachers to those with fewer research skills. In conclusion, the study offers a theoretical contribution that clarifies the implications of mentoring in order to provide a theoretical and significant impact on institutional scientific production today.
