Abstract

Sustainability encompasses not only environmental protection, but also social equity and economic development, forming an essential tripod for the well-being of present and future generations. The objective of this research is: To analyze effective strategies for the integration of sustainability in university curricula. The focus of this research is quantitative, the main instrument of data collection is a survey, applied to 30 teachers who teach courses in different disciplines. The data analysis will include several statistical techniques, using the SPSS program. Analysis of trends shows that those teachers who are familiar with the basics of sustainability are more likely to have received sustainability training. However, there are a significant number of teachers who, despite being familiar with the basics, have not received formal education. Pearson's chi-square value is 31.848 with 16 degrees of freedom and an asymptotic (bilateral) significance of 0.010, indicating a significant relationship between familiarity with basic sustainability concepts and the reception of sustainability training among surveyed teachers. The development of critical and ethical thinking is crucial to train professionals capable of making informed and responsible decisions in the field of sustainability.
