Understanding the implication that communication skills have for every individual and professional, including students of the Education major, this article is presented where the scientific literature on this topic in the universities of Manabí, Ecuador is analyzed. For this, a descriptive methodology was followed, based on a systematic documentary review through the PRISMA method with which a specialized search is carried out to obtain scientific works on the subject in databases such as Google Academic and Redalyc, considering as period the period from 2020 to 2024, without language being a limitation. In total, there were 15 works analyzed, considering their relevance to the topic, whose results showed that communication skills are significant for academic training, not only of university students who train in Education, but also of the rest of the careers in Education. the higher education institutions located in Manabí, Ecuador.
