Executive functions (EF) are cognitive qualities that allow children to develop various school and personal processes based on planning, organizing, regulating and controlling behavior. These skills are essential for academic performance (AD), as they empower students to manage workload, set priorities, and maintain attention on complex tasks. In this research, the relationship between executive functions and academic performance in students of the middle sublevel belonging to the Dr. Benigno Malo Educational Unit is established. The research design is correlational, since the nature of the connection was assimilated when studying executive functions and academic performance. It was necessary to determine their magnitude and direction in order to recognize the existence of a significant and statistical connection between the variables. A positive correlation and a directly proportional association between variables were evidenced, since the greater the executive development, the higher the academic performance, in contrast, the lower the executive development causes a low academic performance.
