Abstract

DIOSES URBINA, Sandra Maribel et al. Guidelines for public investment in tourism for the economic development of a region in Peru. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.2, e502027.  Epub Feb 15, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13158953.

The objective of the research was to develop a public tourism investment guideline that promotes the economic development of a region in Peru. The methodology was quantitative, descriptive-propositional; It focuses on the formulation of practical and applicable proposals, based on detailed analysis and in-depth understanding of the problem, in order to improve the problematic situation and create new opportunities in the tourism sector. A questionnaire was applied as an instrument. The results showed that, for the variable of public investment in tourism, 62% evaluated it as Good, 28% as Fair and 10% as Deficient. Therefore, quantitatively it is classified as Regular, with a score of 13.4 points. Similarly, the economic development variable is rated with 13.0 points, so a guideline for public tourism investment was developed to promote the economic development of that region, based on the weaknesses and strengths identified in all the dimensions and indicators of the relevant variables.

Keywords : public investment; economic development; tourism.
