Abstract

POBLADOR REAY, Angy Paola; PARRA NINO, Laura Daniela; PINZON, Libia Carolina  and  ROJAS-ROJAS, Lizeth Rocio. Treatment of cultural journalism in the print media of Boyacá. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.2, e502039.  Epub Feb 15, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13328957.

The paper presents an analysis of the treatment of cultural journalism in the print media Boyacá Siete Días and the digital portal El Diario (Tunja-Colombia). Content analysis was carried out through a newspaper file applied to the editions No. 3284 to 3571 of the Boyacá Siete Días newspaper corresponding to the year 2017. In turn, El Diario, being digital, the web portal and specifically the Culture tab were analyzed. We investigated the publications made from February 4 to December 28, 2017. Cultural content was found without any further journalistic treatment and the cultural agenda was approached from the perspective of entertainment. The cultural themes are not framed in the agenda setting of the medium. General and massive information is provided, which does not give rise to an analytical position, which leads to superficial information being presented.

Keywords : cultural journalism; media; content analysis; information processing.
