Abstract

TARAZONA JIMENEZ, John Joseph et al. Evolution of the gender pay gap in Peru. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.2, e502044.  Epub Feb 15, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13334737.

This article delimits the average age of highest productivity and the wage gap between men and women in four cohorts, being factors that contribute to the analysis of the determinants of salary in Peru. Using a multiple linear regression model, the nonlinear effect of age on wages and gender pay gaps was identified. The elasticity of salary in relation to age for cohorts becomes inelastic from the age of 41. Wage gaps grew steadily with the exception of the 2019 cohort for this age group.

Keywords : wage gap; productivity; wage.
